The board formally delegates the day-to-day management of Horizon Power to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive management team.
Horizon Power is structured into seven divisions, each with a focus on delivering aspects of its operations, customer services and ongoing business developments.
Chief Executive Officer
Stephanie joined Horizon Power in March 2019.
As Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Power, Stephanie Unwin leads a 500 strong team of energy professionals to deliver power to some of Western Australia’s most remote and regional communities.
Under her leadership Horizon Power is transforming the WA regional energy landscape in an increasingly decentralised delivery model to more than 48,000 connections across 32 microgrids through 2.3 million square kilometres of rugged and remote territory.
Stephanie is passionate about collaboration, inclusion and diversity to build an engaged and inspired workforce. Her ability to facilitate change on a foundation of safety is delivering Horizon Power’s vision of innovative customer choices, reduced costs and cleaner, greener energy solutions for the future through reducing Horizon Power’s carbon footprint, and investing in new technologies such as hydrogen.
Stephanie is a recognised energy industry leader having joined Verve Energy in 2008, continuing into its transition to Synergy.
Stephanie has significant executive and Board-level experience with a number of publically listed companies, including Alacer Gold Corp, Zenith Energy, Integra Mining Limited and several non-listed joint ventures. She is currently a Board Member of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.
Stephanie brings a depth of experience in large scale and remote renewables, battery storage technology transformation and information technology.

Finance and Corporate Services provides leadership, governance and support to the business through the provision of corporate services, enabling ourselves and the business to break down any barriers to “delivering energy solutions for regional growth and vibrant communities.”
External Affairs and Communications
The External Affairs and Communications Division provides communications and relationship management support and advice to the business in order to connect our people, our communities and our stakeholders. The Division shares the voice of our community in business decisions to achieve our business goals and our commitment to regional communities.
Commercial and Business Development
Commercial and Business Development delivers clean, innovative energy solutions that meet customer needs, and ensure business sustainability through growth in our regional communities.
As the advocate for our customers, we will lead the transition to a customer-centric organisation. This will be done by delivering customer service excellence, leading the development and delivery of innovative customer solutions and guiding the customer transition to a highly distributed, cleaner energy future.
Operations will optimise the management and operation of our Electricity System assets, improving safety and achieving efficiencies through operational excellence, innovative digital solutions, a skilled and capable workforce, and meeting our customers need for safe, reliable, efficient and stable electricity supply.

Technology and Digital Transformation
Technology and Digital Transformation will partner with the business in transforming to a Digital Utility, providing thought leadership, strategic advice and technical expertise in the design, delivery and management of technology assets, systems, processes, data and new ways of working.
