Why have tariffs increased in recent years?

The price increases announced by the State Government are a result of government policy to bring the price of electricity more in line with the cost of supplying electricity to households and businesses.

It costs Horizon Power more to supply customers with electricity than what is charged due to the greater costs associated with operating in rural and remote areas. The difference in costs is subsidised by the State Government through the uniform tariff policy. This subsidy ensures that our customers, regardless of where they live, pay the same price for electricity.

Horizon Power acknowledges the Traditional Custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
