Horizon Power Solar is a new, premium, reliable and competitively-priced solar energy product in the renewable energy market. When you choose Horizon Power Solar, you’ll have access to premium solar panels, inverters and batteries from the world’s leading brands, which are suited to Karratha’s climate and proven to stand the test of time against extreme heat, severe storms and cyclones.
Our partnership with Energy Matters has enabled us to offer premium products, built to withstand Karratha’s climate, at a competitive price via a seamless service, saving you time and money. Using data from your meter, we can help identify how much you can benefit from solar power and recommend a system that's suited to your lifestyle and budget.
As a Clean Energy Council approved retailer and installer, Energy Matters will oversee your solar installation process. They will engage local installers to install the solar energy systems, and will manage the warranties and servicing aspects of your system. Energy Matters is committed to working with local, Clean Energy Council accredited installers, bringing more work into Karratha’s community.
Yes, you need approval to install a solar energy system system on the Horizon Power network, but our delivery partner Energy Matters will manage the application process for you as part of their service.
From the time you sign up for Horizon Power Solar, the overall product selection, connection approvals, logistics, delivery, installation and quality assurances processes take approximately 45-60 days. However, as Karratha is located in a Category D cyclone region, extra structural assessments and approvals are required by the City of Karratha before a solar system can be installed. This can affect the installation timing, however the process is in place to ensure you receive a safe, fully insured installation.
Our customer data shows that 66% of households in Karratha can save over 50% on their annual electricity bills by installing a 5kW solar energy system. Please note: these potential savings are based on Horizon Power’s power consumption research at the current standard tariffs. Actual savings may differ depending on (among other things) how you use electricity and whether tariffs change over time.
The average household in Karratha with a 5kW solar energy system will produce 9.0 MWh of renewable energy per year. That’s equivalent to saving 5.6 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, planting 40 trees, or offsetting 13,800 km of travel in a medium sized car.

Yes, you can. The premium inverters we offer have built-in monitoring tools which can easily tell you how much power you are producing from your solar energy system, using an app. You can use this information to calculate how much money you’re saving by using your own power rather than electricity from the network.
