This week in Exmouth, we launched a year-long pilot to explore how electric vehicles can do more than get us from point A to B. They might power our homes and stabilise the grid, too! Bidirectional charging allows EVs like the Nissan Leaf not only to take power from the grid but to give it back. It’s a technology that could help lower energy bills and keep the lights on during outages—all from the car parked in your driveway. Through this trial, we aim to seamlessly integrate electric vehicle batteries with our energy systems, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
