Applications open for Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships program

July 25 2024

As the sun rises over the vast landscapes of Western Australia, we at Horizon Power are thrilled to announce the opening of the ninth round of our Community Partnerships Program. We're inviting organisations that are the heartbeat of remote and regional Western Australian communities to apply for a partnership of up to $50,000. This initiative is our way of giving back, supporting those who enhance the lives of our residents.

Since 2020, we've proudly awarded almost $4.5 million to over 450 initiatives, and this year, we're adding more than $400,000 to that tally. Our focus is on initiatives that have a strong community impact, ensuring that the funds go toward programs and events that are accessible to many and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the community.

Just this year, we've already provided $468,888 to 57 regional WA community organizations. From the Country Women’s Association in Derby to the Exmouth Community Garden, each partnership reflects our commitment to the unique needs and aspirations of our regional communities.

On July 1, 2023, we took on the responsibility of delivering power to 117 Aboriginal communities in remote Western Australia. Since then, we've supported numerous remote communities with over $45,000 in partnerships, including Kimberley Aboriginal Law and Culture Centre and Far North Community Services.

Our CEO, Stephanie Unwin, puts it best: "The relationships we have with our regional communities are invaluable. The Community Partnerships Program is a way for us to strengthen these relationships, working together to achieve shared goals and create lasting impacts."

We're looking for passionate people who work tirelessly to support their communities. If that sounds like you, we encourage you to apply. The applications for the latest round of partnerships close on August 19, 2024, with successful grant recipients to be announced in October 2024.

Investing in our state’s most remote communities

The partnerships continue to reach communities into our more remote service areas. This includes helping the Leonora Local Drug Action Group to engage the most vulnerable in the local and neighbouring communities through their Connect and Grow Basketball Project. Meanwhile, funding will also support the Marble Bar Community Resource Centre, to reinvigorate the centre and equip them to host events and attract visitors to support the economic development of the Pilbara town.

Are you making a difference in your community?

Applications for our 2024 Community Partnerships Program are now open.
