Horizon Power announces $494,788 in Community Partnership Funding for 2024/25

Horizon Power's Community Partnerships Program has been designed to support the development of vibrant and sustainable regional communities. This program was refreshed in 2020 and has since provided almost $5 million through a range of initiatives to build strong communities, support local economies and help to promote connection and wellbeing across remote and regional WA.New partnerships announced for 2024/25
For the coming year, the Community Partnerships Program has awarded $494,788 in funding to 52 organisations across remote and regional WA.
This includes funding allocated for a number of popular events of regional and cultural significance, such as Exmouth’s Ningaloo Sky Festival, the Ord Valley Muster and the Shinju Matsuri Floating Lantern Festival in Broome.
Support for a range of community organisations
Strong community connections are known as the driving force for our customers and staff who live and work across regional WA.
Recipients for this round of the Community Partnerships Program include Warmun Community Inc’s Healthy Mind Healthy Heart Program, Baiyungu Aboriginal Corporation who will host the Jamba Nyinayi Festival 2025, and Glass Jar Australia - Shooting Stars who provide training and employment pathway program for Aboriginal girls and young women.
Other initiatives supported through the Community Partnerships Program in the coming year include the Kimberley Arts Network, Kununurra’s Kangaroo Haven Wildlife Rescue Centre, the Exmouth Toy Library, the Rotary Club of Esperance and initiatives to support grassroots organisations to grow and continue to support their communities, such as support for the 2025 season for Karratha Junior Rugby League.
Support for our Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry organisations
Horizon Power values the role that regional chamber of commerce and industry plays to support the business community. The program supports Chambers Helping to boost local economies through the small business sector can have benefits across the wider community, which is why this round of funding also includes support for initiatives of the East Kimberley Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Karratha & Districts Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Excellence Awards
