Horizon Power is thrilled to announce that Stephanie Unwin, our Chief Executive Officer, will continue to steer the organisation for an additional five years. The Horizon Power Board has extended Ms. Unwin's term of service until 2028, recognising her outstanding leadership over the past four years.
Our customers span across 2.3 million square kilometres, making Horizon Power responsible for delivering energy solutions across the largest geographical catchment of any Australian power provider. Stephanie Unwin, a recognised leader in the energy industry, took the helm at Horizon Power as CEO in March 2019.
Samantha Tough, Chair of Horizon Power, noted that Ms. Unwin has been successfully leading the organisation through a rapidly changing energy landscape, driving significant cultural change while positioning us to achieve our long-term strategy and business objectives.
As we navigate Western Australia's decarbonisation journey, the next few years will be crucial in delivering cleaner energy solutions for our regional and remote customers. Ms. Unwin expressed her excitement about the opportunity to extend her tenure as CEO of Horizon Power, an offer that has received endorsement from the Minister for Energy Hon. Bill Johnston, MLA. She commended the entire Horizon Power team for their passion and innovative thinking, which is contributing to the delivery of a cleaner energy future and supporting the growth of vibrant regional communities.
In this exciting time for the energy industry, Ms. Unwin says she is privileged to work with some of the best and brightest in the sector at Horizon Power. Shaping a new energy landscape for regional and remote WA means tackling challenges head-on and ensuring that decarbonisation is accessible to all customers.
She highlighted the vital role Horizon Power will play in helping the Pilbara region and the State achieve its decarbonisation goals, particularly in the Northwest Interconnected System (NWIS). Horizon Power is committed to making renewable sources accessible to all customers, regardless of their circumstances.
With a strong focus on energy equity and a vision for a net-zero carbon future, Ms. Unwin is eager to build on our achievements and continue supporting our regional communities. Innovation and cleaner energy solutions will be at the forefront as we work diligently across our vast service area.
