Karratha, Exmouth, and Kununurra join the WA EV Network

November 02 2023

Horizon Power is proud to support the expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Western Australia, as the latest locations, Karratha, Exmouth, and Kununurra, join the state's EV network.

The Cook Labor Government has announced that these regional communities will now have access to more EV charging options, promoting sustainable transportation choices and environmental benefits for these remote areas.

Karratha, located in the Pilbara region, Exmouth along the beautiful Coral Coast, and Kununurra nestled in the East Kimberley, have now joined the growing list of regional locations connected to the Western Australian EV Network. These additions demonstrate the government's commitment to expanding the use of electric vehicles and the associated charging infrastructure in the state's regional and remote areas.

Horizon Power, the Western Australian Government-owned energy provider, plays a crucial role in enabling this expansion. By collaborating with the government, Horizon Power is facilitating the installation and management of EV charging infrastructure across regional Western Australia.

The inclusion of Karratha, Exmouth, and Kununurra in the EV network aligns with Horizon Power's broader efforts to foster sustainable and innovative solutions for regional communities. These initiatives not only support environmental sustainability but also provide opportunities for residents and tourists to explore the beauty of Western Australia in an eco-friendly and energy-efficient manner.

To further promote the adoption of electric vehicles in these areas, the government and Horizon Power are actively working on increasing access to fast and convenient EV charging options. The continued expansion of the EV network benefits the community, the environment, and Western Australia as a whole.

As Horizon Power continues its mission to empower regional communities through sustainable energy solutions, it looks forward to further collaborations and projects that enhance the quality of life and contribute to the prosperity of regional Western Australia.
