Connect solar, battery or other renewables

Everything you need to know if you're an installer or electrical contractor applying to connect a renewable energy system in regional WA.

With over 38 unique energy systems to manage, network stability is vital to delivering safe and reliable power across all communities. That's why our engineers need to consider any load impact on our micro-grids by assessing all Distributed Energy Resource (DER) system connections before installation - to ensure they comply with our Technical Requirements.

Here's everything you need to know to apply to connect a renewable energy system to the network.

All new connections will be energy managed with Smart Connect Solar

As more renewables connect to the network, it becomes harder to maintain a stable power supply.  Smart Connect Solar means more rooftop solar can be connected without impacting network stability.

Most systems will need to be energy managed via a Secure Gateway Device connected to Horizon Power's DER Management system (DERMS).
