Smart Connect Solar: Faults & connection issues

Smart Connect Solar links to your rooftop solar system and allows us to turn up or down the solar energy generated when needed to maintain network stability.

If you've recently installed or moved into a property with a Smart Connect Solar system, or there is an issue with your system, you'll need to check it's connected to the internet so it can start generating electricity.

Here's what you need to do to get your solar system up and running.

1. Connect your solar inverter to your internet

Make sure the ethernet connection from your SGD is securely connected to your modem. And that you can access your home internet.

2. Power cycle your Solar inverter and SGD

Turn off the external switch to your SGD located near the solar inverter. At the same time power cycle your inverter by following the manufacturers guidelines.

3. Wait 30 seconds before turning them both back on

It may take up to 15 minutes for the SGD to come back online.

If you're having issues connecting the SGD to the internet

If the above steps have not resolved the issue, you can contact us.

If your solar inverter is displaying an error code or your system isn't generating electricity, it may be due to an issue with your inverter or solar panels, if that’s the case you will need to contact your installer or a licensed electrician.

Why is my system energy managed?
