Renew the Regions
As part of the State Government's WA Recovery Plan, we invested more than $75 million in regional WA through projects aimed at creating jobs and giving towns more access to green energy and improved services.
What does this mean for our community?
$15.5 million
spent directly in the regions by engaging local businesses and suppliers. We also held 25 community engagement sessions.
385 jobs
connected to the program, including 20 Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander roles, 14 traineeships and we signed 9 regional contracts.
10,000 solar panels
installed, including 50 standalone power systems, rooftop solar installed on 30+ schools and over 1,200 battery modules.
2,500+ streetlights
upgraded to smart LED lights and over 180 poles and pillars installed - improving the safety and reliability of our electrical instrastructure.
Clean green energy
We worked with local communities to design and deliver custom energy solutions that integrate more renewables into the network, open up access for more customers to install solar and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
