Energy Ahead Program

Small changes for big savings.

Project overview

Energy Ahead is an energy education program that helps residents understand energy-efficient practices and lower their energy consumption.

The program is delivered by the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation, and Safety (DEMIRS) in partnership with Synergy, Horizon Power, and other non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Through its partnership with Nirrumbuk Environmental Health and Services, Horizon Power offers participants three home visits, which include energy audits and surveys. These visits help participants learn about their energy use and offer personilised advice to reduce energy consumption.

Program objectives

  • Support those experiencing financial hardship: To help households struggling financially by providing practical ways to reduce their energy costs.

  • Reduce bills and CO2 emissions: By promoting efficient energy habits that save money and help the environment.

  • Improving comfort and well-being: By using energy wisely, participants can make their homes more comfortable.

  • Community engagement: Deliver community education sessions to share energy saving tips.
