As Horizon Power continues to increase its investment in renewables energy, further towns may become eligible for Sunshine Saver.
-
Will my daytime energy be directly supplied by the local solar farm?
Across our Sunshine Saver towns, the generation mix includes solar and wind along with support from gas, diesel, and battery storage.
Renewable generation is highly variable - for example, the solar farm generates less energy on cloudy days. This means we rely on some non-renewable sources to maintain a reliable supply of energy to the towns.
Renewable energy generation is fed in to our networks where it mixes with some non-renewable sources; before being supplied to your home.
That's why we purchase renewable energy certificates from local renewable energy sources to offset the account credits being applied to customers as part of our Sunshine Saver product.
-
